Enviro Campers AU Standard

As someone who has chosen to holiday in Australia, we recognise that you appreciate the special qualities of our environment. The landscapes and wildlife that make Australia special are precious, and they need protection.

To make it easy for visitors to show their respect for our country's natural assets, the operators of Enviro Campers, Tourism Holdings Limited (THL), have teamed with BP to be the first campervan rental company to participate in the BP Global ChoiceTM program. This participation is a significant step in THL Rentals' plans for a greener future

How does the BP Global ChoiceTM program work?
BP's environmental program, BP Global ChoiceTM, is designed to offset emissions caused by the fuel consumption of THL's campervans.

BP Global Choice works like a set of balance scales. it aims to balance the greenhouse emissions generated through fuel consumption by helping Australian projects to reduce emissions by an equivalent amount. BP calculates the greenhouse emissions that our fuel consumption generates. THL Rentals then directly pays a small premium on top of our fuel purchase according to the percentage of emissions we would like to offset - we have chosen to offset 100%. That premium is then invested in abatement projects around Australia.

To date BP Global ChoiceTM has reduced greenhouse gas emissions in Australia by 819,824 tonnes, which is equivalent to taking 122, 523 cars off the road. THL Rentals is eager to help increase this number further and take action against climate change.

BP Global ChoiceTM is the first program to be independently audited and certified Greenhouse Friendly by the Australian Greenhouse Office. Valuable emission reduction projects are identified and contracted to reduce greenhouse gas emissions generated by customer’s use of BP fuel.

It's nice to know that your Australian adventure is giving something back to nature!

Enviro Campers AU Standard Rental Terms for travel between 01-Apr-2009 and 31-Mar-2010

Terms of booking on this website

Information disclaimer
The rates on this website are often heavily discounted. This is due to our negotiated rates and bulk buying power. On very rare occasions, a rate may be displayed incorrectly due to our, or a vehicle supplier's error. In such a case, if you book with us at a quoted rate that is incorrect, we will notify you of any price change and give you the option to proceed or cancel. We make every effort to keep information on our site up to date, but we cannot guarantee this website is free of errors or omissions and retain the right to update or change the information published at any time.

Liability
To the extent permitted by law we/the owners of this website will not be liable to you or to any third party (whether in contract, tort, or otherwise) for any direct, indirect or consequential loss or damage (including but not limited to any accident, injury, delay or loss of enjoyment) arising out of your reliance upon information contained on this website, including but not limited to your use (or inability to use) any products or services described or procured through this website.

When you pick up your vehicle, you will be required to sign a rental agreement with the supplier of the vehicle. Your rental and use of the vehicle will be governed by the terms of the rental agreement and any other documentation or information provided to you by the supplier at the time you pick up your vehicle. The rental agreement is between you and the supplier and we will not be liable to you or to any third party in relation to the terms of the supplier’s rental agreement or any other documentation provided to you by the supplier at the time of pick up.

While we will make reasonable efforts to ensure we are representing only reputable suppliers, we make no warranty about the fitness or suitability of any third party (supplier) product or service and will not accept responsibility for the quality or fitness of any vehicle. We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.

Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.

Booking information
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice. The deposit required to secure your vehicle (as shown on the secure booking page) will only be processed on your credit card when your booking is confirmed. Please note that a 1.75% credit card charge will be added when your payment is processed.

A booking is confirmed when you have been emailed a confirmation voucher and at this stage the deposit is processed on your card and becomes non-refundable and any cancellation fees stated in the supplier's terms apply. Upon receipt of your confirmation, please check your details carefully and notify us immediately if there are any incorrect details, as it may not be possible to make changes at a later date.

If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.

Information disclosure
In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental services.

Amendments
Please note that some suppliers treat an amendment as a new booking and apply the rate current at the time the amendment is made to recalculate the entire booking amount (not just the days changed). If the hire is increased, an additional deposit may be required, while reduction in rental periods or price may reduce the total, but the deposit amount will remain unchanged. To request a change to a confirmed booking, please use the alterations request link on your confirmation. Any alterations are subject to availability and the approval of the supplier. In addition to the alteration policy of the supplier stated in their terms, the following charges will apply:
Car rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency):
To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 25.00
To add or remove extras to/from a confirmed booking: 10.00
Motorhome rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency):
To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 75.00
To add or remove extras to/from confirmed booking: 20.00
The alteration fee will not be charged if your alteration request is not possible.

Vehicle Capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.

Enviro Campers AU Standard Insurance

FOR YOUR PROTECTION – VEHICLE EXCESS
Personal injury is covered in most cases through registration third party insurance. Enviro strongly recommends that all people travelling in Australia take out personal travel insurance.

All vehicles are insured for the damage to the vehicle or to the property of a third party. The hirer is responsible for the first AU$7,500 (“the excess”) or AU$1,800 ("the excess" in the case of the rented vehicle being the Enviro 2BBXS) of the cost of damage to third party property or to the rented vehicle, including single vehicle accident, windscreen and tyre damage, towing and recovery costs, theft, fire, break-in or vandalism with the exception of the ‘exclusions’. This also includes the cost of the daily rental for the period the vehicle is off fleet for accident repairs.

The excess is applicable regardless of who is at fault and must be paid at the time the accident report is completed, not at the completion of the rental. The excess will be refunded if Enviro are successful in recovering the cost of the damages from the third party. Please note that third party claims can take months to resolve. The excess applies in respect of each claim, not rental.

Please see the ‘Exclusions’ section below, whereby all insurance cover will be made void.

This AU$7,500 excess or the AU$1,800 excess (AU$1,800 excess applicable to the Enviro 2BBXS only) can be reduced, in most circumstances, by the purchase of excess reduction option 1(not available if the rented vehicle is the Enviro 2BBXS), excess reduction option 2 or the no worries cover option.

Excess Reduction Option 1
If you buy this policy your vehicle excess will reduce as follows:

2WD: AU$2,500
4WD: AU$2,500

When excess reduction 1 has been purchased the hirer is responsible for the first AU$2,500 (“the excess”) of the cost of damage to third party property or to the rented vehicle. This includes single vehicle accident, windscreen and tyre damage, towing and recovery costs, theft, fire, break-in or vandalism with the exception of the ‘exclusions’. This also includes the cost of the daily rental for the period the vehicle is off fleet for accident repairs. The excess applies in respect of each claim, not rental. Please see the ‘exclusions’ section below, whereby all insurance cover will be made void.

Excess Reduction Option 2
If you buy this policy your vehicle excess will reduce as follows:

2BBXS 2WD          NIL
2WD                        NIL
4WD                        AU$440

When excess reduction 2 has been purchased, the hirer will have no excess at all for 2wd vehicles with the exception of the ‘exclusions’.

In the event of the vehicle hired being a 4wd the hirer will be responsible for the first AU$440 (“the excess”) of the cost of damage to third party property or to the rented vehicle.

Note: Excess Reduction Option 2 is included in the Enviro Bonus Pack

Please see the ‘Exclusions’ section below, whereby all insurance cover will be made void.

The No Worries Cover Option is only available when Excess Reduction 2 has been purchased.

Note the No Worries Cover Option is included in the Enviro Bonus Pack.
With the No Worries Cover Option, the hirer will not have to pay any excess at all for any damage to the vehicle or property of a third party with the exception of the ‘exclusions’. This will include accidental overhead or underbody damage to the vehicle. Please note overhead and underbody damage cover is excluded unless the no worries cover option has been purchased.

TYRE AND WINDSCREEN DAMAGE – Where the hire has a nil excess up to one windscreen and two tyres will be covered for accidental damage. Should these amounts be exceeded the cost to repair or replace the items will not be covered and will be the responsibility of the hirer.

ENVIRO STRONGLY RECOMMENDS OUR CUSTOMERS TAKE NO WORRIES COVER FOR TRAVEL WITH COMPLETE PEACE OF MIND.

EXCLUSIONS:
All insurance cover will be made void if any of the following ‘Exclusions’ are breached:
1. Overhead and underbody damage to the vehicle – except where no worries cover has been purchased.
2. Any water related damage which includes, but is not limited to:
    a) any vehicle submersion
    b) creek or river crossing
    c) driving through low plain flooded areas
    d) beach driving
3. Personal belongings. Enviro recommends the hirer does not leave valuables in the vehicle and that they have insurance to cover for the loss/damage of personal belongings.
4. Any damage caused by willful misconduct (e.g. sitting or standing on the bonnet or roof of the vehicle).
5. A single vehicle roll over occurs.
6. Any damage caused while driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
7. The Customer will be liable for any cost associated with the incorrect use of fuel or the use of Bio-Diesel which should not be used (fuel being diesel or petrol), or water or other contamination of fuel.
8. The cost to retrieve or recover a vehicle, which may include, but is not limited to a vehicle that has
become bogged, submerged or has been abandoned.
9. The cost to replace keys, which have been lost or retrieval of keys, which have been locked in a vehicle.
10. The vehicle rented may only be used to carry the maximum number of passengers as dictated by the
vehicle type. If more passengers are carried than what is allowed Enviro does not accept any liability.
11. Drivers not identified on the rental agreement and/or drivers that have a licence that has been cancelled
or suspended and/or drivers who have a licence that is classified as a learners or probationary licence.

VEHICLE SECURITY DEPOSIT#
Upon vehicle collection, a security deposit is required. The amount is determined by the Excess Reduction Option selected.

For security purposes, only a credit card can be used to provide a vehicle security deposit. The credit card holder must be present and able to sign for the vehicle security deposit upon vehicle collection. The credit card holder is jointly and severally liable for any damage to the rental vehicle.

# In the USA a vehicle security deposit is referred to as the “deductible”.

All debited bonds are subject to a 1.75% credit card administration fee  in addition to the bond amount when the credit card used is either Visa or Master Card.. This administration fee is refunded when the bond is refunded. If a bond is retained the administration fee is retained.

If an Excess Reduction Option is not selected, the security deposit is AU$7,500 or AU$1,800 if the rented vehicle is the 2BBXS payable by credit card.

The AU$7,500 or AU$1,800 is debited to the hirer’s credit card when the vehicle is collected. For this reason it is important that the hirer have the funds available on the credit card and that the amount does not exceed the hirer’s daily withdrawal allowance available on the credit card.

If Excess Reduction Option 1 has been taken the security deposit is AU$2,500. (not applicable to the Enviro 2BBXS).
The AU$2500 is debited to the hirer’s credit card when the vehicle is collected. For this reason it is important that the hirer have the funds available on the credit card and that the amount does not exceed the hirer’s daily withdrawal allowance available on the credit card.

If Excess Reduction Option 2 is selected with or without No Worries Cover or the package booked is the Bonus Pack the security deposit is AU$220 for 2WD vehicles or $AU440 for 4WD vehicles.

The AU$220/$440 is taken as an imprint to the hirer’s credit card when the vehicle is collected. An imprint simply records a figure against the hirers credit card of AU$220/$440 that Enviro can then debit if required.

The security deposit is fully refundable provided the vehicle is returned on time, to the correct location, undamaged, with a clean interior and with full fuel tanks (fuel being petrol or diesel) and gas bottle. Except where the customer has purchased PGO (PGO is included in the Enviro bonus pack) and/or Pre Purchase Fuel
(PPF), failure to return the vehicle with full petrol or diesel tanks and/or a full LPG bottle will result in refill charges, which will be advised upon return of the vehicle.

Enviro reserves the right to retain an AU$220 cleaning fee if the vehicle is not returned with the interior in a clean condition. The toilet and waste water tank must be emptied prior to the return of the vehicle, or an additional AU$125 soiling fee will be retained.

FOR SECURITY PURPOSES ENVIRO STRONGLY RECOMMENDS THE USE OF CREDIT CARDS FOR VEHICLE SECURITY DEPOSITS.
